The modern Burmese saga, however, began in 1930, when a female cat was brought to the United States from Burma.

Frequently Asked Questions

A good climber and jumper, the Burmese loves being adored by her parent but may not get along easily with other cat breeds.

It really depends on your situation, as mentioned Burmese are a very social breed and if you work long hours or are out for extended periods then yes getting 2 kittens would be ideal. Two kitten will keep each other company when you are not around and, by having 2 you’ll get twice the love when you are!

Due to their short close lying coat Burmese require minimal grooming. You can give the coat a weekly run through with a grooming mitt or rubber brush. Their nails will require trimming every few months.

Absolutely! We have tested all our breeding cats for Hypokalemia through the UC Davis Veterinary Genetics Laboratory.
